See the world differently with innovative art productions, premieres and family activities at the Greenwich+Docklands International Festival 2023 (GDIF), which takes place across Royal Greenwich, Docklands and Tower Hamlets.
Part of Royal Greenwich Festivals, the annual festival of outdoor theatre and performing arts presents an extensive programme of art installations, street theatre, circus, dance acts and music events, produced by UK and international artists.
What's on at Greenwich+Docklands International Festival 2023?
The 2023 programme is yet to be released. The following are a sample of what visitors were able to see in 2022.
- Enjoyed a sensory spectacle inspired by the magical light of fireflies, Daan Roosegaarde presents his organic firework installation, SPARK.
- Saw Canary Wharf become a Dancing City, with a spectacular mix of international and UK dance, from stilt-walking to afrobeats.
- Witnessed a mesmerising installation of colour, visit Stephanie Lüning's Island of Foam: Version XVIII that transforms the Greenwich Peninsula into mountains of multicoloured foam.
- Were moved by Discover Ukraine: Bits Destroyed, a dazzling digital artwork display to celebrate Ukraine's rich cultural heritage, sending a message of solidarity.
