Explore the story of European art at the National Gallery, masterpiece by masterpiece, with its collection belonging to the public which includes inspiring works by Botticelli, Leonardo da Vinci, Rembrandt, Gainsborough, Turner, Renoir and Van Gogh.

This season we have incredible exhibitions for you to enjoy. Winslow Homer: Force of Nature - for the first time in the UK, an overview of the great American Realist. The Credit Suisse Exhibition - Lucian Freud: New Perspectives, spanning the life's work of one of Britain's most notorious and celebrated figurative painters.

Following the free theme, the National Gallery also has free exhibitions too. On now is Picasso Ingres: Face to Face, for the first time, Picasso’s ‘Woman with a Book’ (1932) will be brought together with the painting that inspired it, ‘Madame Moitessier’ by Jean-Auguste-Dominique Ingres.

The National Gallery aims to make access to the paintings enjoyable and welcoming to the widest possible public with a range of facilities from step free access to Changing Places toilets.
