Sydenham Hill Wood

Sydenham Hill Wood, is the London Wildlife Trust's oldest nature reserve, where remnants of Victorian gardens can be found amongst the trees.
About
Go on a hunt for the ruins of an old Victorian folly, or follow the tracks of the run-down Nunhead to Crystal Palace railway to find the old tunnel, now home to dozens of bats. Explore the 18th century path of Cox's Walk, lined with ancient oaks, as you imagine the things these trees have seen and keep your eyes peeled for woodland creatures. This is the largest remaining part of what was once the Great North Wood, so there is plenty of exploring to do.
