About
Explore the history and stunning architecture of the Royal Hospital Chelsea in south-west London.
Commissioned by King Charles II and built by Sir Christopher Wren, the Royal Hospital is home to about 300 army veterans. Book a guided tour and learn about the stunning buildings from a resident Chelsea Pensioner or make your own way around the historic site.
The museum is home to many artefacts including the uniform of a veteran soldier and a reconstruction of a typical berth. The entrance hall, dedicated to the Duke of Wellington, houses a large diorama showing the Royal Hospital as it looked in 1742.
