James Bond in Mayfair
Start off in Mayfair, the birthplace of James Bond creator Ian Fleming. Track down the blue plaque at 22b Ebury Street, Fleming’s home from 1936 to 1941. Pop in for a cocktail at one of the numerous high-end hotels that Bond might well have visited in this area.
James Bond river Thames locations
Head to North Greenwich and The O2, where you can climb up its roof and discover iconic views of London from one of the key venues used in the 1999 Pierce Brosnan flick, The World Is Not Enough. Head inside and see a concert, visit an exhibition or relax in one of The O2’s many restaurants and bars.
Speed along the river Bond-style on a thrilling ride with Thames Rockets, taking the route used by the secret agent in 2015’s Spectre.
Best views of James Bond film locations in London
Back on dry land, head up Western Europe’s tallest building, The Shard, and enter its famous observation deck at The View from The Shard. Look out over London and see many sites that have featured in James Bond films, including City Hall, Westminster Abbey and of course Thames House, the headquarters of MI5.
Cultural James Bond London attractions
Take in some culture at the National Gallery. If you find yourself in the gallery’s Room 34, you will be in the same spot where Bond first encountered Q in 2012’s Skyfall.
At the other end of the Strand, Somerset House is a venue for all things artsy. Come Christmas, an ice rink takes over the grand interior courtyard, which masquerades as St Petersburg in Goldeneye.
Dine and drink like James Bond in London
If all this action has left you with quite an appetite, head to Rules Restaurant in Covent Garden for luxury cuisine, and dine where the likes of Bond stars M, Q and Moneypenny have all eaten, most recently in Spectre.
Head to Dukes London hotel, where Fleming was inspired to write in a dry martini (“shaken not stirred”, of course) as Bond’s favourite drink.
